MX Record Overview

If you are using AITDomains “Manage DNS” system:

  1. Login to the Domain Management Tool here:https://dmt.aitdomains.com/
  2. Click, “Manage Domains.”
  3. Locate the appropriate domain name and click the, “Simple DNS Management” icon (resembles a pencil & ruler).
  4. Clicke the, “MX Record” tab.
  5. Fill in the host name(s) for each mail server under, “Name.”
  6. Fill in the priority number(s) under, “Preference.”(You may click, “Preview” to preview the zone file for this domain.)
  7. Click, “Save.” (These changes are real-time and will take approximately 30 minutes to update across all name servers.)
  8. Be sure your name servers for the domain in question are ns0.nameservices.net and ns1.nameservices.net.

To log into your Cloud Server from a Windows PC, you will need to havean SSH client, installed on your computer. AIT recommends PuTTY, which is a 3rd party application. You can download that here. If you choose to use PuTTY, you can use the steps below to connect.

  1. Once PuTTY is downloaded and installed, starting the program will take you to the configuration screen.
  2. Fill in the “Host Name (or IP address)” field with theIP address from the welcome email or the IP address you see in the “My Account / Cloud Management” Dashboard.
  3. The Port number is 1022.
  4. The connection type is SSH.
  5. Additionally, click on the sidebar entry, SSH, and select “2 only” as the preferred SSH protocol version.
  6. Once everything is configured, you can name and save these preferences for the future by clicking on Session in the side bar and typing a title into the Saved Sessions field. Then click save.
  7. Double click on the session name to connect, and accept the subsequent pop up that asks if you want to connect to the host.
  8. After PuTTY starts up, type in the root password that was emailed to you, or shown in your “My Account / Cloud Management” Dashboard.

SSH from a Mac to your Cloud Server

To log into your Cloud Server from a Mac, follow these steps.

  1. To log in on a Mac computer, open the terminal program (in the utilities folder) and type in the following command:
    ssh root@your_ip_address
  2. Type “yes” when the prompt asks if you want to connect to the host.
  3. When prompted, type in the root password that was emailed to you or shown in your “My Account / Cloud Management” Dashboard and press enter.
  4. Although the password is entered when you type, it does not show up on the screen for security reasons.

Creating an Account (test account created: mjnoble2020 and 2020mjnoble)

a. Go to https://eckcreativemedia.nameservices.net/domainregistration/login.jsp

b. Click on “Click Here to Register”

c. For Password, please use One capital letter, but at least Two lower case, Two numbers and Two special characters but no more that 15 total (Example: Panthers$#20 or Panthers120$#)

d. Be sure to check the Box “I agree to the terms and conditions of theuser agreement” and then click Submit.

e. Review the contact information and click Submit again and account for the User will be created.

2. Transfer a Domain.

a. Login as the Customer with their Account User Name

b. At the Blue Menu Bar at top of page, Scroll over Transfer Management and Click on Transfer Domain.

c. Enter Domain Name and Payment information and then Click on Submit.

d. On the next page, click on Confirm and Payment will be made.

e. When the domain name has been released by the losing registrar, AIT will be notified by the losing Registry and will be able to send the Confirmation Code to the Email Address of the Administrative Contact. Many AIT Domain Resellers user their own Email Address as the Administrative Contact.

f. Once the Confirmation Code has been received by the Administrative Contact email address (again, recommend you use your email address), login back in as the Customer with their Account User Name.

g. At the Blue Menu Bar at top of page, Scroll over Transfer Management and Click on Confirm Domain Transfer.

h. This is where you would Confirm the domain name, then add the Confirmation Code sent to you by AIT and add the Authorization Code from the losing Domain Registrar and click Submit.

i. The process can take up to 5-7 business days before the domain name will appear in the customer’s account but that is the last step in the transfer in process.

3. Register a Domain Name

a. Login as the Customer with their Account User Name

b. At the Blue Menu Bar at top of page, Scroll over Domain Management and Click on Register Domain.

c. Type in the name of the domain name in the text box, confirm number of Years and click on Submit.

d. On the next page, click on Confirm and Payment will be made.

4. Manage Domains

a. Login under your Account login or as a customer using their login.

b. At the Blue Menu Bar at top of page, Scroll over Domain Management and Click on Manage Domains.

c. When you login under your Account Number, you will see all the domains in your account.

d. When you login under a customer’s login, you will just see their domains for their account.

e. This is where you will be able to modify their domain settings (nameservers, ect).

5. How to modify the pricing of the domains and extensions for your customers.

a. Login under your Account login.

b. At the Blue Menu Bar at top of page, Scroll over Manage Accounts, Reseller Management and click on Rate Setting.

c. The White fields are the pricing you can edit/modify and that is the price your customers will be charged.

d. The Shaded fields are the pricing that AIT will charge to you for each domain extension and type of transaction.

6. How to modify the Header and Footer or Upload Images to your AIT Domain Reseller URL.

a. Login under your Account login.

b. Scroll over Manage Accounts

c. Scroll over Reseller Management

d. Click on Update Header and Footer file option OR Click on Upload Images

7. How to run a Reseller Report for a date range to review registration, renewal or transfer transactions.

a. Login under your AIT Account login at https://order.aitcom.net/cgi-bin/olsplus/new/login.asp

b. Click on Domains Management Tab

c. Under Manage Accounts, scroll down to Reseller Report and then select Domain Report

d. Report Type option allows for a report based on registrations, renewals or transfers or all of those options.

e. Date Range option allows to set a to and from date for your report.

f. TLD Type option allows choice of .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info or .us of all of these extensions.

g. Click Execute to see report.

8. How to check on Reseller Commission Reports.

a. Login under your AIT Account login at https://order.aitcom.net/cgi-bin/olsplus/new/login.asp

b. Click on Domains Management Tab

c. Under Manage Accounts, scroll down to Reseller Report and then select Commission Report

d. Current month displayed and click Execute to see Total. This is the amount earned so far.

e. There is a $150 reserve that will need to be met first so the Amount Due in parenthesis is the amount that still needs to be earned in order to have earned Commission.

9. How does a Reseller earn their commission and get “paid”.

a. AIT Reseller Agreement https://website-dev.ait.tools/vrprogram/VR_Agreement.pdf

b. Payments are noted under Paragraph 3. b. 4)

“When Customer’s Domain Reseller account has attained a minimum reserve balance of $150.00, Commissions shall be paid by means of check mailed to the Customer’s designated address.”

c. Provided the Reserve Balance continues to be met, Commission Payments shall be made no sooner than ninety (90) days from the date of this Agreement.

d. Customer must request Commission Payments to receive such Commission Payments. Such requests may be made by contacting AIT Domains Support staff between the hours of 9 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday.

e. Commission Payments shall be made on a quarterly basis upon request by Customer, and shall be subject to a minimum of $50.00 (above the Reserve Balance) and a maximum of $250.00.
