Does AIT support ASP.net application pages on my Fully Managed Windows server?

Yes. You can use ASP.net application pages on our Fully Managed Windows platform; however, there are a few configuration modifications that needs to be made.

  • The folder you have uploaded the .aspx page to needs to be set to an Application Folder.
  • The folder you have uploaded the .aspx page to needs to have the aspnet user added to it.

For AIT’s fully managed Windows web hosting environment, we are using ASP.NET 1.1, however AIT is in the process of upgrading the Windows environment to Windows 2003 and to ASP.NET 2.0.

The upgrade of ASP.NET 2.0 has caused functionality problems with our SMT control panel environment, so an upgrade of ASP.NET is not something AIT would recommend until the Operating System is properly upgraded with the SMT.
