How do I change domain ownership / registration of a domain name to another person?

If you currently own a domain name that is registered with AIT and want to move it to another individual, you will need to complete a Change Domain Ownership document. The form must be submitted to AIT with all the necessary information.

Change of Registration Ownership transaction method:

  1. Download the Change of Registration Ownership form found below.
  2. Customer must establish a new user account on AIT’s Domain Management Tool interface located here for each transferee that is to be a recipient of one of Customer’s domains.
  3. Customer must list each domain to be transferred and the user account to which the domain is being transferred.
  4. Customer must remit to AIT the Change of Registration Ownership Agreement notarized.

Upon receipt of the form, AIT will verify the information and process it. The processing time is normally within 12 hours but could be as long as 48 hours depending upon circumstances. You can fax or email the form. The details for the method to communicate the form to AIT are listed directly on the form itself. When completed, a confirmation email will be sent to the customer requesting the transfer.
