Notice: Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called incorrectly. Translation loading for the wp-expand-tabs-free domain was triggered too early. This is usually an indicator for some code in the plugin or theme running too early. Translations should be loaded at the init action or later. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. How do I untar or uncompress a file on my Linux server? | Advanced Internet Technologies

This option will allow you to decompress a Tar/Compressed file on your virtual server.

  1. Upload the tarred file to the server, assuring that the transfer is in Binary mode, not ASCII mode.
  2. Create a directory for the expanded files to go into.
  3. Log into your SMT.
  4. Go to Web Services–>Manage–>Untar A File
  5. Enter the directory path to the tar file on the server.
  6. Enter the directory path to untar the file in.
  7. Choose your file type.
  8. Click submit.

A .zip file will not work with this program. If your log files have been compressed you will not be able to use this to untar them in the /www/logs directory. Also, you will not be able to untar data into the /bin, /usr/bin, /lib, or /usr/lib directories.
