AIT recommends that Webalizer statistics should be ran from the Apache server logs at least once a month. Doing so is not critical, however AIT recommends running Webalizer this often as it will allow your log files to be purged once a month. Webalizer pulls data from the Apache access and error logs. Thus, once the Webalizer stats are run for a particular month, your access and error log files can be archived on your local PC rather than taking up disk space on your server.
