In what directory are Virtual Host web data stored in by default on my Linux Reseller Account?

Virtual hosts are located in subdirectories within your ‘htdocs’ directory. When you create a virtual host through your SMT 5.0, the default directory will be the virtual host domain name without the extension.

For Example:

If you were going to add the domain name xyz.com to your account as a virtual host then by default the directory path would be:

/www/htdocs/xyz/

Now you can change this directory path when you create a virtual host. To do this follow the steps below.

  1. Login to your SMT through //website-dev.ait.tools or the Online Customer Care Center at https://order.aitcom.net/.
  2. Go to Web Services>Add>Add Virtual Host.
  3. Within the Domain Name field type the virtual host domain name.
  4. By default the SMT will auto populate the Home Directory field with the domain name with out the extension. To change this simply delete whats currently there and type in the directory name ONLY. This can be whatever you would like to use. Do not type in the path.
  5. Select Add

This just added a virtual host with the directory you specified. When you FTP into the server, you will find the virtual host directory in the following directory:

/www/htdocs/directory name/
