What is PCI? | Advanced Internet Technologies

PCI Compliance, or PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) are security procedures from the PCI Security Standards Council for merchants that accept credit cards online. This includes guidelines for user authentication, firewalls, antivirus, encryption, truncating account numbers, programming maintenance and vulnerability testing. The primary issue is the handling of credit card numbers. To be PCI compliant, a merchant must encrypt card numbers before transmission over any network and must store them in a protected environment.

AIT’s environment are traditionally PCI compliant, however from time to time, different PCI scanning services may show an alert for some customer accounts.  If you have a PCI compliance scanning provider, and there are medium or high alerts that you wish for AIT to review, please ensure you provide us with the report via trouble ticket.  You can upload the report to your server via FTP or file manager, and then submit a trouble ticket for us to review your PCI compliance report.
